Lior Textiles Industries, an Israeli designer of ballistic protective vests for the IDF, is presenting the DRONE WARRIOR – a mini drone carry, deploy & operate tactical system for soldiers at DEFEA 2023, currently being held in Athens, Greece.
Drone technology has greatly improved, and now enables individual soldiers to operate drones in the field. However, the soldiers are faced with a host of new challenges, such as getting the drone to the mission's aera without damage; leaving enough space for other equipment and weapons; and taking the drone quickly and quietly out of its case.
"Today, we are proud to announce that – after an intense and successful period of cooperation with one of Israel's leaders in drone technology, The Lior system is part of a flagship Israeli combined drone soldier body architecture," said Lior CEO and owner, Yitzchak Bookris.
The Lior warrior drone case is made of light, extremely strong materials. Its padded interior protects the drone from impacts, ensuring it arrives at its destination in working order and ready to be launched.
According to Chagai Karp, Lior's chief designer, "We manufactured a system that allows the drone to be deployed from the back almost eliminating the traditional way of removing the backpack to access the drone, thus saving critical time, movement and potential entanglements. We also manufactured a universal controller pouch that enables the operator to lift the screen into direct line of sight while freeing both hands."
